Urid Dal or Ulutham Paruppu are black lentils that have been split and skinned. It is among the most common lentils used in India. It is used to make dosas, crisp panckaes of South India and also poppadums by combining it with rice. It is very rich in protein, folic acid, low fat, carbohydrates. Its best quality is that it improves digestion of food due to rich fiber content.
